PhotonHub was delighted to participate in Tech Tour Photonics Berlin 2025, held as part of Photonics Days Berlin–Brandenburg, Germany. 🇩🇪 The event brought together more than 30 startups, 40 investors, and key players from across Europe’s photonics ecosystem for two days of pitching, networking and collaboration.
Representing PhotonHub, Peter Doyle had the honour of presenting the €5,000 winner’s cheque to Phanofi, the winner of the PhotonHub Launchpad Track 2025.
Throughout the event, over 30 innovative companies pitched their photonics and photonics-enabled solutions, spanning fields from healthcare and sensors to semiconductors and augmented reality. The creativity and technological potential showcased by these startups demonstrated once again how powerful applied light can be in driving Europe’s innovation and competitiveness.

PhotonHub was proud to participate in the Global Photonics Economic Forum (GPEF) 2025, held in Málaga, Spain 🇪🇸, from 7–8 October. The event, organised by Optica, brought together leaders from across the global photonics community, including researchers, startups, investors and industry representatives, to discuss the economic impact and strategic growth of photonics worldwide.
The forum opened with insightful remarks from Jose Pozo (CTO, Optica) and other key industry figures, highlighting the importance of collaboration, resilience and innovation in strengthening the photonics ecosystem.
Throughout the event, PhotonHub showcased how it is driving photonics innovation across industries, supporting companies and research teams with access to advanced technology, training opportunities and investment readiness services.
Nathalie Debaes and Susan Brindley from our Front Office Team welcomed visitors at booth #37, engaging with partners and participants interested in accelerating their photonics journey through PhotonHub’s Europe-wide support network.
