Assessing the Optical Quality and Fabrication Potential of TiO₂ Materials for Nanophotonic Devices
The main purpose of the project will be to precisely assess the quality of the material used for NEDs (e.g. high refractive index TiO2) in terms of optical losses by scattering (e.g. by using simple straight waveguides) and the potential of the original nano-fabrication method by SOLNIL (sol-gel coating and nano-imprint lithography of metal oxides) to produce high quality grating couplers featuring small details (<100 nm).
